Thursday was our March Madness PBIS assembly. Students did an amazing job at demonstrating HERO skills throughout March! High school athletes from Washington and Lincoln (former JHE students) answered questions and played/competed against JHE students and staff! Our 4th and 5th grade free throw champions played "lightning" against the high schoolers. Students from all schools displayed their hula hoop skills. JHE staff members demonstrated their strength playing tug of war against the high school students. It was an action packed afternoon!

Last week, the Sioux Falls Public Education Foundation awarded the ninth Public School Proud Grant to Amanda Bork-Hickey at John Harris Elementary! She received $1,456.59 for her proposal, “Sensory Success Opportunities.” She will purchase mold and play sensory sand, magnetic drawing boards, rainbow liquid sensory viewers, squish and squeeze sensory beads, maze cubes, discovery bags, gel floor tiles, and sensory wall panels that can be used by students to help with self-regulation strategies.
Thank you to the Sioux Falls Public Education Foundation and to Midco for being a longtime partner of the Education Foundation!
4th graders attended the Water Festival earlier in the week. It is always such a great learning opportunity!
