Last Friday, Waste Management provided our K-2 students with a lesson on waste disposal and recycling!








Library update:
With Earth Day being celebrated this week, Kindergarten and first graders read There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed A Worm. Students then were able to create their own worm and watch it grow!





Yesterday, 304 spent some time in our outdoor classroom. They made weather observations and wrote about it using descriptive language.





It's Administrative Professionals' Day! We have two of the best at John Harris: Deb and Toni! These two consistently go above and beyond to support students, staff, and families! Thank you both for your amazing work and dedication to the JHE community!

Last week JHE second graders had a wonderful time visiting the Children's Museum of South Dakota in Brookings!

Last Friday was our PBIS March Madness celebration! Members of the WHS girls' team and the LHS boys' team joined JHE students in a morning of fun and friendly competition. Coaches from the teams emphasized the HERO skills that our students live daily.











4th grade invited other students and their families into our classrooms on Friday for a ‘World’s Fair.’ They wanted to share their research and Google Slideshows on the countries of the world! We are so proud of all of their hard work!







It was such a pleasure to have Ben Reifel Music Groups perform at John Harris last Wednesday afternoon! Thank you to the students and the directors. JHE loved the performances!

The money received through the grants is being used to purchase wonderful activities, materials, and/or supplies that will benefit the learning experiences of students at John Harris!


Look at that gumball machine! John Harris students and staff have been working very hard to fill that gumball machine up. We currently have read 54,460 books. We still have until March 31st to get to the top! Keep on reading Hurricane Heroes! We can do it!


As we enter the fourth quarter, it is amazing to reflect on the growth students have made so far this year. We are proud of our readers, artists, writers, musicians, mathematicians, scientists, and athletes!











There was a great turnout at All Pro Dad this morning. It's hard to believe there are only two more this school year!
