Due to the amount of snow that fell with this winter storm and the time it will take for plows to get into residential neighborhoods, there will be No School, no practices and no activities tomorrow – Wednesday, January 4, 2023. District and school offices will be open.
In addition to there being NO SCHOOL today, an update now includes that SFSD Offices will also be closed on Tuesday, Jan 3, 2023.

Everyone from kindergarteners to fifth graders to staff enjoyed a little celebration and fun time during winter parties yesterday.
We have some talented musicians among our staff! Yesterday, Ms. Moser, Mrs. Merkouris, and Mrs. Hogarth took some time to lead students in some caroling fun!
202 and 203 students had some science fun last week! Students secured an egg during their physical science unit. They were dropped on Monday! There were many eggs that survived the fall. Way to go 202 and 203!
JHE's very own Elf on a Shelf paid a visit to the library today!
505 students started their Explorer presentations last week and finished up yesterday. They read about an explorer, researched their explorer, and then became their explorer!

What a crazy start to the day! Imagine students' additional excitement seeing JHE staff dressed as cartoon characters. Our staff were grouped into "gift giving/cartoon teams" and have been contributing to donation baskets over the course of the last few weeks. Today is the conclusion of our donation collection. Individual teams will be posted later today!
Students in 204 and 205 had a fun virtual field trip to NY last week as they learned about the history of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and the Wondertown Windows. Students then spent time designing their own windows and parade floats! Such a fun project!
Thank you Denis Miller for engaging our first grade students in some physical science activities earlier this week! What a great learning opportunity!
202 students have been working so hard in Junior Achievement the last few weeks! They have loved each week with our JA leader Jessi Tucker. They have been learning about communities. Thank you Jessi!
Yesterday 101 & 403 watched the read aloud Balloons Over Broadway: The True Story of the Puppeteer of Macy’s Parade by Melissa Sweet. Students then designed their own balloons and created them together.
