Mrs Effling got a PTO grant for the George McGovern books written by a former JHE 4th grade teacher, Mrs. Sarah Herbert. They made a comic strip of his life!
4th grade used PTO funds to purchase Book Club books!
Today was the first 5th graders vs. staff basketball game. 5th grade players were selected by lottery system after indicating their interest in playing. It was a close game, but the staff team came out on top! It was so much fun! 4th and 5th graders were excellent spectators. Thanks to all the students and staff that played, supported teams, and helped make it a great event!
Thank you Nan and Emily Baker! These two created a coffee bar experience that was just what our staff needed to start the day!
Do you have a 3-5 year old? Considering pre-school? See the infographic for more details.
Yesterday, 104 had a "whale of a good time" reading in the life size whale in their classroom!
On Wednesday of this week, JHE had its first Books and Breakfast Book Swap. To say this event went very well would be an understatement! See the Book Swap 2023 results pictured below. Thank you to Stefanie Hage, Tammy Christensen, Emily Savage, Lisa Erickson, Brittany Anderson, Sue Roemeling, and Cindy Breen for helping prep, organize, and facilitate the event. Thanks to our middle school helpers and teachers that stepped up to deliver and distribute books. They couldn't keep up!! It was a great problem to have! We had so many book donations...this event would not have been possible without the support of our awesome school community!
All Pro Dad is complete for the 22-23 school year! The conversation between children and father figures was powerful as they discussed leadership this morning! We hope that you will join us next school year when All Pro Dad starts up again!
A "Team Survivor" challenge during the staff meeting last week ended in a three way tie. After school today, the three teams faced off in a tie breaker challenge called "Cheese Head." The goal was to throw and stick as many cheese balls to the shaving cream resting upon the head of a team member. Congratulations to the Blue Bandits on their victory! Their prize is that Mrs. Dobberpuhl and Mr. Conner will be covering all of their recess duties next week!!
Yesterday was a beautiful day for the third grade literacy lunch!
