Last Friday was JHE's Glow Day!
Yesterday, kinder and first took advantage of the beautiful day and brought their books outside to enjoy the outdoor classroom during their library time!
The JHE PTO has spoiled us for "staff appreciation week!" A big thank you to Christa Bauman, Lori Blom, and Lucy Henglefelt for setting up the various treats and activities throughout the week!
Teacher appreciation week kicked off today at JHE with snack and beverage deliveries, courtesy of 5th grade students!

The John Harris 5th grade band has worked very hard and they are ready to share their parade songs, “Let’s Go Band!” & “Star Wars” with the JH students on Thursday! We are so proud of all they have accomplished this year and look forward to all they will accomplish with music in middle school!

It was so much fun seeing families at the JHE art show and ice cream social tonight! Thanks to parent volunteers Christa Bauman and Katie Cory for helping making the night possible. Thanks to our amazing art teachers Sam Levisay and Molly Wilson for guiding students throughout their art projects. Thanks to the JHE staff who put in extra hours setting up and preparing for this event. Finally - thanks to students for creating their masterpieces and their parents for supporting them!

This week first graders had the opportunity to learn some archery skills taught by the Outdoor Campus staff! Thanks to the parents who came out to support!

4th grade was so excited to share their country research during our World’s Fair on Friday! Thank you so much to everyone who was able to come and support our students!
Thursday morning was JHE's first monthly "Hero breakfast." The Hero breakfast was added to our PBIS system as a way to recognize students and parent volunteers that have exemplified the John Harris CORE values (Helpfulness, Excellence, Respect, Ownership).
Nominated by staff members, these students and parent volunteers became recipients of the "Honorable Harris HERO award, which was presented to each student and parent that was nominated.
Judge Jon Sogn was our guest speaker for the event. He shared a powerful message and this quote for the group to remember: "Good, better, best. Never let it rest. 'Til your good is better and your better is best."
We look forward to continuing this event in
the future!

Students are enjoying the recently acquired tables purchased through the JHE PTO grant! The buddy bench that had been by the office was placed between the tables. This new space is already getting a great deal of use as students take a break from play during these warm days!
