Harvey Dunn Elementary students are almost a month into the Dreambox Summer Challenge. Check out the classrooms that currently have the highest usage. Siouxland Libraries Summer Reading Program: The summer reading program starts today, June 3rd. Remember to track your students reading. The goal is 20 minutes a day, 5 days a week. Track your reading and pick up a few prizes along the way at your local public library! (FYI - The Ronning Library by Laurel Oaks pool is now reopened.)


5th Grade students receiving Presidential Awards at Harvey Dunn Elementary were honored before school today. Family members were in attendance at the ceremony. Congratulations on your accomplishment!



Students participated in Field Day activities during their gym class last week. Friday afternoon, they celebrated with a treat from Dakota Snow. Thank you Mr. Rodman for organizing and running the fun field day activities. Thank you Harvey Dunn PTA for sponsoring the yummy treats!




Today we celebrate our Speech Language Pathologist at Harvey Dunn! Thank you for all that you do Ms. Rudi and Ms. Ali!



Research shows that students can lose 2.6 months’ worth of math skills over the summer. Students have the opportunity to keep their math skills sharp by participating in the Harvey Dunn Summer DreamBox Math Challenge. Forms to sign up are due Thursday, May 19th.


Harvey Dunn Elementary students participated in a variety of activities this past Friday sponsored by our school's PTA. Students in 2nd-5th grade went on a field trip to experience something in the community. Kindergarten and 1st grade students participated in activities within the school/community center building.




Fifth graders from 503 spent time this morning walking around the playground picking up branches and sticks that had fallen down during yesterday's storm.

Tomorrow is the last day the Morningside Community Center will be open after school. Please have alternate plans for your child if this is their typical after school location.


If your child is missing any items, visit the Lost & Found tables before the end of the school year. If you stop in to visit the book fair, take a moment to view items. After the last day of school, the remaining items will be donated or discarded.




Reminder, the Buy One, Get One Free Book Fair is tomorrow, Thursday, May 12th from 8:15am-6:30pm and Friday, May 13th from 8:15am-2:30pm. Students will have assigned times to come down and shop at the book fair during the school day.


Today is School Lunch Hero Day! We celebrate all of the individuals who make the cafeteria at Harvey Dunn a great place to be!
