Kindergarten teachers are sending holiday cheer your way!

Happy Holidays from the staff at Harvey Dunn Elementary! Throughout the day, we will be sharing our staff holiday cards.

The Junior Kindergarten students built gingerbread houses today. They look amazing!

Junior Kindergarten students participated in a holiday tree challenge yesterday. Students could only use paper, scissors, and glue to get their trees to stand. Then they decorated it.

Congratulations to Ayan Rinehart and JoElle Rygg who were selected to be a part of the SDSU Elementary Honor Choir. On February 9, 2023, they will be rehearsing and performing six songs with other 4th, 5th and 6th graders from South Dakota. The performance will be at the Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center at 4:45pm in Brookings.

Our art teacher, Mrs. Black, has put together an amazing snowglobe photo opportunity for families. A couple of students tested it out after school yesterday. We encourage you to stop in and take a picture. It is located inside the school's front doors. Stop in the school office to check in and use the beautiful backdrop.

Harvey Dunn staff and students are invited to dress up next week, leading up to our holiday break. Join in on the fun!

The holiday break for the Sioux Falls School District is approaching. Make note on your calendar. Enjoy the time together!

This week we have two classrooms to highlight for Wow Wednesday! Students in classrooms 202 and 204 took part in a science experiment that went along with their Matter unit. Students had to use their sense of touch to figure out some properties of different objects and make predictions before knowing what was in the Mystery Boxes. Check out a few pictures from 202!
